Historical details: Son of Marcus Aurelius and Faustina (young), Commodus was born in 161. Marc Aurèle died leaving his son the empire and the care of continuing the war. Commodus hastened to conclude the peace and returned to Rome. To repress the conspiracies, he massacred a crowd of senators, sparing neither his family nor his favourites. He married and died poisoned and strangled aged 31
