Reverse: Naked Taras riding a dolphin, holding a cornucopia and a trident.

Historical details: During a shipwreck, Taras was saved by a dolphin who took him on his back and put him on the shore. At this place, Taras created according to legend, the city of Taranto, which became in the 5th and 4th centuries BC the largest Greek city in southern Italy. After the death of Pyrrhus, king of Epirus 272 BC, Taranto made an alliance with Rome.
