Historical details: During a shipwreck, Taras was saved by a dolphin who took him on his back and put him on the shore. At this place, Taras created according to legend, the Greek city of Taranto in the south of Italy. After the death of Pyrrhus, king of Epirus in 272 BC, Taranto made an alliance with Rome.
