Denarius of Julia , Roman Republic, silver 88 BC. The Gens Julia may be regarded as the most illustrious of the patrician families of Rome. She is among those whom King Tullus Hostillius had transported to Rome after the destruction of Alba the Long, and whom he immediately enrolled in the ranks of the patricians.
