Sumptuous service of eighteen fruit knives in silver and mother-of-pearl. Each knife has a solid silver blade stamped with the head of Socrates to indicate second title between 1819 and 1838 and the number 81 for Poitiers. The knives are in perfect condition, and in their original red case (case a little worn). Fruit knives were very popular back when stainless steel didn’t exist. Indeed, acidic fruits tended to stain the steel of old knives and therefore we favored solid silver blades.
